Sun Valley men’s facial treatment

In honor of Pisces season, we are launching the BaldyBoy facial.

Inspired by the most captivating mountain and boy I know. This facial is designed to treat mountain boy faces.

The BaldyBoy facial begins with HOT towels and a Dewy Tips hand treatment to soothe dry cuticles, cuts, or other manly hand problems. This facial is relaxing, customized for Sun Valley’s outdoor elements, and streamlined to fit your needs. Each facial is different from the next. We all have different skin, and we all need a little extra something. Think deep cleansing, clarifying, and hydrating skin.

My Love, Mr. Nigel James Schroeder has beautiful skin, and we work with sensitivity, dryness, and pigmentation in his facials. If you see him on Baldy, he is painted with 25% Zinc Oxide. It’s his best defense against sun damage and preventing hyperpigmentation. His at-home routine has changed his skin over the past 8 years, and it is a beautiful transformation to watch.

Nigel’s morning routine is simple. He rinses his face with water for about a minute, massaging the skin. Next, he applies Le Mieux Vita-C Serum as his first treatment step of the day. This helps with skin brightening and pigmentation repair. I love vitamin C in the morning because antioxidants help with the efficacy of your SPF.

Next, he applies CBD for Life Face Cream. It is a thinner consistency, which he loves for daytime. If he is extra dry, he substitutes his night cream with his day cream to add a thicker emulsion for hydration longevity.

The last step is SPF. This changes with the seasons (and his wife’s current SPF obsession), and currently, his SPF of choice is Kizo Lab UV Defensive Clear Sunscreen for every day. For Mountain time, he uses Badger Adventure Mineral Sunscreen Tin SPF 50. CRUCIAL STEP.

It goes off at night. Nigel is diligent with his routine, and this shows in his progress. He double cleanses every night to help with pore buildup, acne prevention, and serum efficiency.

First, cleanse: Dewy tips Vanilla Rose Cleansing Oil.

Second Cleanse: ZO Skin Health Exfoliation Cleanser (Nigel refers to this as ALIEN GOO)/ or Hydrating cleanser.

Exfoliation days: (Sunday & Wednesdays, sometimes only once a week depending on sensitivity) ZO Skin Health Exfoliating Polish

Night Moisturizer: Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream (GOAT Calming cream for sensitive skin). Lastly, Dewy Tips Lip Butter.

He schedules his facial treatments two weeks apart to manage his pigmentation and (maybe most importantly) to relax before the workweek. Sundays are the best days for facials to end the weekend on a high note and set the tone for a beautiful new week.

Can’t wait to see you soon in the spa!

Sun Valley, Idaho Skin Rejuvenation Goals & How to Double Cleanse

In 2025, Ketchum, Idaho, recorded the average snowfall in January measured 32". The beauty of the Wood River Valley covered in blankets of fluffy, corduroy snow is something out of a dream!

As I write this we are counting down the days until the next snowfall. A highlight of January for me is to watch Trail Creek slowly freeze over with nature's glacial and icy artistry. We are praying for snow, but content with this winter's highly snowy paradise. With temperatures ranging from -6 to 25, focusing on skin health preservation and creating a nurturing atmosphere for the epidermal layer is essential.

Here are some of skin rejuvenation habits and facial care recommendations for Sun Valley’s beautiful snowy mountain climate…

As I write this we are counting down the days until the next snowfall. A highlight of January for me is to watch Trail Creek slowly freeze over with nature's glacial and icy artistry. We are praying for snow, but content with this winter's highly snowy paradise. With temperatures ranging from -6 to 25 degrees, focusing on skin health preservation and creating a nurturing atmosphere for the epidermal layer is essential.

Here are some of my skin rejuvenation habits and facial care recommendations for our beautiful snowy mountain climate.

To start off simple, my skin rejuvenation goals center around hydration and protection. Starting each morning with sunscreen/SPF is an amazing first step into creating a protective skincare regime for anyone with any skin type. Another idea is incorporating cute hats with wider brims and bills. With the benefits of added sun, wind, and compromising elemental protection, it is worth trying on a few hats at the Gold Mine, Girl Friday, or The Attic.

In order to effectively remove a 22% zinc oxide SPF formulation, you must double cleanse. I know it's an extra step, but I promise you will thank me later. If your cleanser is gentle enough (mild, gentle surfactants, and hydrating cleansers), you can use the same cleanser twice. In a perfect world, an oil or cream cleanser would be your first cleanse, and your bubbly or foamy cleanser would be your second cleanse. Here is my double cleanse routine:

Step 1. Lather cleanser in your hands, making sure a sufficient amount of cleanser reaches your face, neck, decollete.

Step 2. Gently massage your skin using small circular movements, and upward motions. Focus on any areas of congestion you may have.

Step 3. Completely rinse your face, neck and decollete and repeat Step 1 for your second cleanse.

The topic of double cleansing has my heart. It’s so important this time of year and has FOREVER CHANGED my skin and all of my clients' skin, too. I could talk about it for hours and customize it for anyone.

Your nighttime cleanse may be a double oil cleanse, or your nighttime cleanse may utilize cream/acid/or enzymatic textures. Every face and skincare routine is beautiful and so unique.

If you have any questions, please reach out any time. For a little extra skin care love look into one of our specialized facials built for Sun Valley’s mountain climate. See you in the spa soon Dreamers!

Wishing you a beautiful snowy January

Our winter skin goals are to restore the skin's natural hydration and give your skin the comfort it needs to glow all winter long.

Three easy tips that will keep you glowing all winter long:

  1. Take it easy on high-percentage skincare actives and focus on nourishing your skin from within.

  2. Increase your internal hydration , and consume hydrating fruits and vegetables throughout the day (cucumber/cantaloupe, and blueberries are a staple!) And try adding in hydrating serums and toners under a highly occlusive cream or balm. This has been a lifesaver for me

  3. Try a nighttime oil to lock in your skincare lineup. And sometimes, a facial full of skin-loving ingredients is the boost you need!

See you at the spa soon Dreamers
